Configuring the Network Settings on Gira S1
The Gira S1 is designed to automatically connect to the Gira Device Portal providing remote access without the need to make changes to the network router.
Leaving the device on DHCP will provide the best results as it will mean the device is always on the correct network address even if the network set up is changed. If the address of the device does needs to be fixed then using the router to reserve the DHCP address is recommended instead of using a static IP.
If you do need to change the network settings then you will need to login into the device via its local IP address. On the device page you will find the network settings option and the usual settings for IP address, subnet, router and DNS server.
It is also possible to change the DNS server in the ETS application if it is not the DNS provided by the default gateway via DHCP. Ensure this is a working DNS as it is needed for the S1 to connect to the Gira device portal.
