Weinzierl - The new KNX Modbus RTU Gateway 886.1

The popular KNX Modbus RTU Gateway 886 is now even more powerful with the new 886.1 Secure version, supporting KNX Secure and offering a range of additional features. 

This updated version includes expanded configuration options for transferring Modbus registers to KNX data points, aligning it with the capabilities of the KNX Modbus TCP Gateway 716 Secure. 

A significant enhancement is the ability to test Modbus functions directly from the ETS parameter area. This allows communication tests without multiple downloads, as test queries can be performed directly in ETS through the gateway. This feature works even without full KNX configuration—only the gateway’s physical address needs to be programmed. This functionality simplifies and accelerates the installation process significantly. 

The KNX data point converter enables easy conversion between different data point types (DPTs) and scaling of value ranges. 

The new gateway is powered directly from the KNX bus, eliminating the need for any additional auxiliary power. 

Additionally, sample configurations are now available for the KNX Modbus RTU Gateway 886.1 to help ease the integration of various devices, such as inverters, heat pumps, and energy meters. These configurations can be accessed on the product page and imported directly into ETS using the free DCA ConfigTool for the Modbus RTU Gateway 886.1. 

The DCA tool also allows for saving and transferring existing configurations, including those created with previous models, simplifying updates and integrations.
