Faradite with Dynalite, C-BUS and Free@Home

Using Faradite’s MOTION SENSOR 360 Range with Dynalite, C-BUS and Free@Home

At Ivory Egg, we're all about embracing the world of building controls. When it comes to lighting control options, one solution shines bright – the Faradite sensor.

These sensors have been a big hit among users of Control 4, Crestron, Savant, and Lutron for years. Now, they're extending their reach to other fantastic systems like Philips Dynalite, Clipsal C-BUS, and ABB Free@Home.

What's more, these sensors are available in a range of versatile options, including wall mounted, paintable, and even fire-rated versions, ensuring you got plenty of choices to create the perfect building control setup.

See below on how to connect the Faradite motion sensors to the Dynalite system:

A great Dynalite device that can be used with the Faradite Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free is the DLLI8I8O. This small device features 8 volt-free outputs, which means that theoretically, you can connect up to 8 Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free devices to a single Dynalite DLLI8I8O.

Since the DLLI8I8O is powered with 12-24V DC, it can be used to supply power to the Faradite motion sensor. Use the ‘+12V’ and ‘GND’ terminals on the DLLI8I8O to connect to the ‘+’ and ‘-’ terminals of the motion sensor.

The motion sensor output terminals of the Faradite Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free should be connected across the ‘DC1’ and ‘GND’ connectors of the Dynalite DLLI8I8O.

See below on how to connect the Faradite motion sensors to the C-BUS system:

Connecting to Clipsal C-Bus 5104B

A great C-BUS device that can be used with the Faradite Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free is the 5104B. This small device features 4 volt-free outputs, which means that theoretically, you can connect up to 4 Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free devices to a single C-BUS 5104B.

NOTE: This device consumes 3mA at 24V. Please take into account the power consumption from the bus or consider a separate auxiliary power supply.

See below on how to connect the Faradite motion sensors to the ABB Free@Home system:

Connecting to ABB Free@home BI-F-2.0.1

A great ABB device that can be used with the Faradite Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free is the BI-F-2.0.1. This compact device offers 2 volt-free inputs, which means that, theoretically, you can connect up to 2 Motion Sensor 360 - Volt Free units to a single ABB BI-F-2.0.1. (There is also an option for a 4-input module with ABB Free@Home if needed.)

Note: The terminals on the Motion Sensor 360 - IP67 - Volt Free and Motion Sensor 360 Pinhole are the same. This means that the IP67 and Pinhole versions can be wired in the same manner as demonstrated in this blog.
