Installing the Motion Sensor 360 - Plaster In
The Motion Sensor 360 - Plaster In is designed for a completely flush and discreet installation, blending seamlessly into any interior. Its front disk is paintable to match the ceiling finish, offering flexibility for custom installations.
Installation Process
Mounting Plate Installation
The plaster-in mount can be installed directly into plasterboard or onto EU/UK backboxes. It is important to use the correct screws for each mounting type to ensure the screw heads do not protrude beyond the finished surface level. For plasterboard installations, a 51mm hole should be cut into the board. Insert and secure the mounting plate using the designated screw holes.
Surface Preparation
Once the mount is securely fixed, the plasterer skims the surface to create a flat, clean aperture. Any debris should be removed to ensure a neat installation.
After plastering and decorating are complete, cables can be pulled through and coiled, ready for termination.
Sensor Installation
Connect the cables to the back of the sensor and insert the sensor into the mounting hole. The sensor is held in place by three spring-loaded ball bearings that provide a "click" when properly seated. These ball bearings also allow rotation to fine-tune the detection area.
Infrared-blocking stickers are included to further customize the detection area if needed.
Front Disk Installation
The final step is attaching the front disk, which is held in place by magnets. This disk can be painted to match the ceiling finish for a seamless look.
For best results, painting the disk with a small roller before installation is recommended.
