New Theben Weather Station

Modern buildings place high demands on comfort, energy efficiency and security, and weather data plays a bigger role in that than most people realise. With the new Meteodata 150 KNX, Theben offers a powerful all-in-one weather station built for intelligent building control. It records all the relevant weather data on site and uses it to automatically control shading, climate and other building functions via KNX.
One device, a full picture of the weather
The Meteodata 150 KNX packs an impressive amount of sensor technology into a single unit. Depending on the variant you choose, it can measure:
- Wind speed
- Rain
- Brightness from four cardinal directions
- Temperature and wind chill
- Humidity
- Air pressure
- Global radiation
- GPS supported location and time information (model dependent)
Having all of this data collected centrally means shading, ventilation and other automated functions can be controlled with a level of precision that's hard to achieve with separate sensors scattered across a building.
Sun protection that actually thinks ahead
One of the standout features of the Meteodata 150 KNX is how far its sun protection functions go. It can manage:
- Up to 14 sun protection channels for different facades
- Sun position dependent shading
- Automatic slat tracking
- Automatic height tracking, including shadow edge calculation
- Brightness, twilight and temperature dependent control
- Separate control for morning and evening twilight
In practice, this means rooms stay cooler in summer without blocking out daylight unnecessarily, which translates into real savings on cooling and air conditioning over time.
A simpler option for simpler jobs
Not every project needs the full sensor suite, which is why Theben has also released the Meteodata 150 basic KNX. It drops the rain sensor, sun and astro tracking, global radiation and air pressure sensors, making it a solid choice for smaller installations or projects where budget is the priority.
Whether you're speccing a high end architectural build or a straightforward residential upgrade, the Meteodata 150 range gives you the flexibility to match the weather station to the job, not the other way around.
