ZETR + Casambi is exclusively available at Ivory Egg

There aren’t many decorative switches for Casambi projects. Most Casambi installs end up with a generic push button on the wall, even when the rest of the space has been carefully designed.

That’s why we’re adding ZETR to the Ivory Egg range. ZETR has partnered with Casambi to develop its first purpose-built smart switching system, and Ivory Egg is the exclusive distributor of ZETR Casambi Enabled Switching.

Who is ZETR?

ZETR has been designing architectural electrical products since 2017. Its R&D team designs everything in-house in Australia, and it has sales and technical teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The brand is known for power outlets and switches that sit quietly in the wall instead of on it. Its approach is “quality over quantity”, and it designs for longevity. ZETR’s work has been recognised with a Good Design Award Gold (2021), an iF Design Award (2023), and wins at the Australian Design Review IDEA Awards and the Archiproducts Design Awards, among others.

What’s in the Casambi range

The Casambi ecosystem sits within all of ZETR’s switch ranges, including 13/FLUSH, 48/ROUND and 12/SURFACE, bringing power, switching and intelligent control together. The Casambi range is built as one complete system:

Wireless Casambi module. A five-input smart controller that fits behind the ZETR switch interface. It handles switching, dimming and multi-channel control from one module, comes with pre-wired connectors and is configured entirely in the Casambi app.
Switch mechanism with LED indicator. ZETR’s first switch built for this system. It’s a low-voltage electronic mechanism with a soft tactile press, quiet operation and a programmable indicator light. You can set the indicator to 3000K, 4000K or 6000K and to 100%, 75%, 50% or 25% brightness, or turn it off.
Motion sensor (optional). It picks up movement up to 6 metres away and can switch on the indicator light as someone walks up to it. You can set the range to 0.5, 1.5, 3 or 6 metres.
Control switches from 1 to 5 gang. Available in black or white, with mounting options for plasterboard or multi-material walls. For a finished look, add ZETR’s made-to-order metal faceplates and matching button covers in brass, bronze, nickel and steel finishes.'

Why Casambi, and where it fits

Casambi is a wireless lighting control system that runs on Bluetooth mesh. Fixtures, drivers and switches talk to each other directly and are set up from an app. That makes it practical for projects where adding control cabling is difficult or not wanted.

For whole-building automation, KNX is still our first recommendation. KNX covers the full system: lighting, HVAC, blinds, energy and more. Casambi is a lighting control system. They solve different problems, and some projects only need lighting control.

Until now, there haven’t been many decorative switch options for those projects. With ZETR, a Casambi project can have a wall interface that’s as considered as the lighting it controls, with scenes and dimming available at the touch of a button.
